DEXILANT is available in Canada in the following strengths:- 30 mg capsules (blue and gray with "TAP" and "30" imprinted)
- 60 mg capsules (blue with "TAP" and "60" imprinted)
How to Take DEXILANT
Dosage:- Healing Erosive Esophagitis: 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks.
- Maintenance of Healed Erosive Esophagitis: 30 mg once daily for up to 6 months in adults and 4 months in adolescents.
- Symptomatic Non-Erosive GERD: 30 mg once daily for 4 weeks.
- Oral: Swallow the capsule whole with water. It can be taken with or without food.
- Applesauce Method: Open the capsule and sprinkle the granules on a tablespoon of applesauce. Swallow the mixture immediately without chewing.
- Oral Syringe: Mix the granules with 20 mL of water, swirl, and withdraw into a syringe. Administer immediately. Follow with two more 10 mL rinses.
- Nasogastric Tube: Mix the granules with 20 mL of water, swirl, and withdraw into a syringe. Administer through the tube immediately. Follow with two more 10 mL rinses.
